Hello! Today I will be blogging the saxophone. So, not a lot of people know but I play the saxophone! I asked my band teacher at the very end of last year, if I could play the saxophone in a group she had started called Jazz combo or Jazz Band, Whatever you want to call it. Anyway, she said yes! I got tested with three types of saxophones; The alto, tenor, and baritone. I preferred and did the best on the alto sax, so we both decided that it was the one for me. She said I would have to practice over the summer, and I could come to the band room and have mini lessons with her as well.

Over the summer that was my “project.” I really enjoyed playing the sax over the summer, it gave me something to do when I would just be lounging at home instead. I learned the basic b flat scale and how to sight read notes. I also learned my arpeggios and the thirds for my b flat scale.
